Secrets Revealed: Project Dusk

GENESIS ORGANIZATION:
Organization devoted to the scientific study of genetic copies and their uses. Contains many different sub-groups each dealing with different aspects of cloning, or other genetics-related material.

The DUSK CLONING GROUP:
A military division of the Genesis Org. dealing with the mass production of clones, their interactions within groups of "pure-breds" (normal people) and their aplications as potential combat operatives. Also, recently developed methods for producing half-bred semiclones, as well as made new advances on the theory of "gene splicing."

PROJECT_DUSK:
A small-scale cloning project that is being carried out by the Washington branch of the Dusk Group. DNA samples of three individuals were taken and cloned to create five clones of each individual and mark differences between behavior, as well as develop new methods of gene research.

Abnormality Factor XI:
One of the DNA samples used for the production of five clones was submitted by an individual who's application was entirely blank except for the name, which contained only the letters "X" and "I". Being that no other individuals had donated DNA for the group project, they used the one submitted under the name XI. Its genetic structure was fairly basic, and most alleles were noticeable for their co-responding traits, except for a single gene related to eye color that seemed to have no function and no co-responding trait. This abnormality was also noted in both of the other genetic structures submitted, but not nearly as profoundly as those found in the XI genes. Thus, the unknown gene was called the Abnormality Factor XI.

The works of Martin Rauren:
Martin Rauren was a member of the project_dusk group who was working on the concept of "gene splicing." He used the DNA from his three year-old son, Firion, to create five of the 15 dusk_clones, and experimented with each genetic part in order to give all five of them different traits. He compiled a list of the genes and their coresponding traits, which allowed the dusk group to customize each clone before creating it. Also, he found that the Abnormality Factor XI was indispensible to the creation of the clone, and that it would not live without this gene. Dusk_Clone_NO.10 was the only individual created without the Abnormality Factor XI, but it died shortly after conception due to a defect in its cells' reproduction.

The works of Maria Liance:
Maria Liance was another of project_dusk's valued members. She is solely responsible for the first "half-bred" clone ever produced. She used DNA from her three-year old daughter, Remma, to create five of the 15 dusk_clones, including NO.13, Rinaria. The others, she left for the original project, but NO.13, she engineered to be somewhat different from Remma with the help of Martin Rauren's research on "gene-splicing," and then injected the finished ovum into herself. The effects of her clone's pregnancy were amazing; its development stage only lasted three months, and then exited the body to continue its growth during childhood. Remarkably, it was a superb success, and she kept Rina as her own daughter.
